AttoDriver_YYZ 15k on the Atto 3. things I've learned: preconditioning is not optional in canadian winter. use it. set a departure time. the difference is like 50km of range. the BYD dealer network is actually getting better. my scarborough dealer has a full service bay now and parts in stock. 6 months ago it was 2 weeks for anything. the infotainment screen rotation thing still makes people's jaws drop. never gets old. a squirrel got into my garage and ate through a small cable near the frunk area. not BYD's fault but still. watch your garages people. resale is holding better than I expected. saw a 2024 Atto 3 with 22k km listed at $39k on autotrader. I paid $44k after rebate. not bad. that's it. nothing dramatic. it's a really good car.
AttoDriver_YYZ dealer said wildlife damage is typically covered under comprehensive auto insurance not warranty. my deductible was $500 so I just paid out of pocket. $180 for a cable replacement. not terrible.
DolphinDave_Toronto the preconditioning point is so important and I don't see it mentioned enough. people complain about winter range but they're not preconditioning. it's a skill issue not a car issue
CanadaBYD_Mark Resale holding at ~89% of purchase price at 22k km. Two years ago I would have predicted 70%. Something has shifted with buyer confidence.
SeaLionSam_MTL ah oui, this is actually a thing — soy-based insulation on EV cables attracts rodents. it's been a problem across brands, not just BYD. might be worth some rodent repellent tape around the garage
BYD_Calgary_Carl "nothing dramatic, it's a really good car" is genuinely the best review format. this is what people actually need to hear
