was genuinely 90% of the way to a Model Y. had the configuration saved. was about to put the deposit down.
then my sister told me to test drive the MG4 XPOWER first. she drives one in Vancouver.
here's what happened:
- got in the MG4 and the salesperson let me do a proper test drive, not the 10-minute loop most dealers do
- i put my foot down on the on-ramp to the sea-to-sky
- i immediately texted my sister "you are correct"
the Model Y has 7 seats, more cargo space, and the Tesla ecosystem. it costs $17,000 more in Canada after incentives.
the MG4 XPOWER is more fun to drive. full stop. more engaging, more playful, better steering feedback. it's not even close.
I don't need 7 seats. I need to have fun. bought the MG4 that week.
