GWM Poer pickup owners — anyone in Canada? feeling very alone out here

bought a GWM Poer because I needed a pickup truck and I could not justify $65,000+ for a Big 3 truck

this thing is genuinely a proper pickup. diesel engine, real tow rating, can haul stuff in the bed without apologising for it.

but I think I might be one of maybe 40 people in Canada who own one. the forum is relatively quiet. dealer network is thin. I got a weird look from a Toyota dealer when I mentioned it.

anyone else driving one? where are you? let's find each other and compare notes.

also: anyone found a good source for GWM Poer bed liners in Canada? the US Amazon marketplace has some but shipping is ridiculous.

not a Poer owner but saluting you for the pioneer spirit. the pickup truck segment is where Chinese brands could genuinely disrupt the market if they get the distribution right

the pickup truck price gouging by the Big 3 is real and getting worse. GWM and BYD (with the Shark) are going to find buyers if they can sort dealer networks

BYD Shark is supposedly coming to Canada in 2027-ish. PHEV pickup. if that lands at a reasonable price point the GWM Poer is going to have company and you won't feel so alone

the diesel in Canadian conditions is actually an advantage in winter. diesel trucks start reliably at -40 in a way that some gas trucks don't
